Environmental/Civil Engineer - The ELM Group seeks an environ./civil engineer with 3 to 10 years consulting experience for its Holicong, Pennsylvania ( Bucks County) office. The position involves working in an integrated project team assisting with project and task management for the implementation of a wide range of environmental investigation and remediation projects emphasizing water resources management. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Remedial investigations (sediment, surface water, soil, and groundwater)
  • Remedial evaluation and design for a wide range of projects
  • Soil/surface water/ground water data analysis and interpretation
  • Developing investigation/remediation strategies
  • Conducting feasibility studies to provide cost-beneficial solutions to clients in a regulatory context.
  • Preparing and reviewing design documents, cost estimates, work plans, and reports.
  • Conduct data analysis and interpretation for chemical, geologic and engineering data in a water budget framework involving potential exposure pathways in surface water, ground water, soil and sediment.
  • Incorporating knowledge of federal, state and local regulations/ordinances into management strategies.
  • Oversight of construction to design specifications.

Preferred experience and qualifications include:

  • Water resources engineering: storm water, ground water, treatment systems, soils/sediment management.
  • Remedial investigations, remedial design and implementation for soil and ground water remediation projects.
  • Experience with medium to large scale projects for industrial clients.
  • Some field experience with implementation of investigation and remediation programs preferred.
  • Drive to learn new skills as needed to adapt to project and client needs.
  • Ability to adapt to new project types and responsibilities as needed to complete wide range of projects.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training Certificate required with goal of acquiring PE.
  • Desire for growth in technical and project management responsibility.
  • Position requires candidate to periodically work from Princeton, NJ office (typically several days a month).

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER (CERCLA and State Superfund projects) – Immediate opening for a senior risk manager with an interdisciplinary background, federal and NJ/NY State regulatory expertise and interest in managing large scale multi-media projects, typically associated with major waterways. Experience with applying adaptive management principles in the context of watershed planning and management desired. Strong PRP group leadership, negotiation, contractor oversight and team management skills are required. Candidates should have an advanced degree and relevant professional certification or registrations. Position is for the Manhattan Office of Environmental Liability Management, Inc. ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER – Immediate opening for experienced engineer to assist in the oversight and implementation of site investigation and remediation projects, as well as environmental compliance and permitting for new and existing operations. Candidates must be highly organized with demonstrated experience in the management and coordination of contractors/consultants involved in multi-media remediation projects, including RI/RA and remedial design, along with civil engineering aspects of site work. Candidates should have 5+ years experience and must also have excellent communication skills, including writing, and proficiency with software such as MS Project. Air permitting/compliance experience is a plus. There are opportunities for increased responsibilities and advancement with proven track record. ENGINEER/ SCIENTIST – We are currently seeking an engineer/scientist to fill a Technical Specialist position in the Manhattan Office of Environmental Liability Management, Inc. This individual will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant experience in the NYC five boroughs with the application of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II Investigations, NYC Dept of Environmental Conservation Spill Assessment & Closure Activities, and a knowledge & understanding of NY and NYC environmental regulations. Experience in Brownfields and/or remedial design is a plus, but not required. Candidate must possess either an Engineer-In-Training or a Professional Geologist certification, and exhibit proficiency in completing relevant projects from proposal phase to project close out with minimal supervision from senior staff; demonstrate strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities; demonstrate ability to follow direction and work in a team environment; possess excellent communication, writing, and organization skills; and have the ability to multi-task. CAD DRAFTER/IT SUPPORT – Immediate opening for AutoCAD Drafter position. Individual must have at least 2 to 3 years experience in a professional office environment and must be proficient in AutoCAD Land Development Desktop 2004 or higher.
